    Title and position to accrue experience for other companies.

    Inconvénients

    Expect the preverbal blood from a penny. High expectations without being compensated accordingly. Stress and mental health issues causing a revolving door effect with management and employees.

    Avantages

    Good discount and 4 weeks vacation, good learning

    Inconvénients

    Can be an extremely stressful environment with high sales associate turnover. Very little motivation from higher management . Not much opportunities for advancement

    Avantages

    Quick turn around of trends — you see their evolution happen right in front of your eyes. We’re constantly adapting to shopping behaviour so not a single day is the same. There are good opportunities to build relationships with staff and directors/product managers, etc. Sales goals are realistic because they’re based on comp. As a manager you do feel like you belong to the #1 company in the world, but we also know... that none of our staff feels the same, and that sentiment can be contagious.

    Little to no work-life balance — the pace of your location can keep you from achieving many tasks that you end up taking home, like schedules or employee reviews. Unrealistic expectations to deal with last minute changes — there are many issues with shipments and you’re expected to know everything and fix everything. Poor communication from H.O. — lots of emails and little follow up. Also, when having difficult... conversations, directors tend to talk down on managers in front of others.

    Pick up the phone every now and then and ask how things are. Build a rapport that doesn’t revolve around stressful H.O visits. Learn the staff’s names or at least try by asking them when you’re on site. Conduct a market study within your own stores — ask the staff what they’d like to see, be open to new ideas and criticism without shutting them down. Remember what things were like when you were in your managers’... shoes and be more empathetic. The company is set to continue its growth for years to come, but the turnover of staff is ridiculous. Focus on building a corporate culture that is inclusive and rewards top performers.

    Avantages

    Great to develop skills working in a fast paced retail environment. Great to work in visual to be able to freely be creative with merchandising to be able to increase sales Able to directly speak to head office and have an impact on product you store could receive. Great resources and tools, the company is very advanced.

    Inconvénients

    Doesn't appreciate their staff. Head office expects the stores to work with minimal hours and even though the store made more money, they cut more hours expecting you to make more money with less hours. The sales floor is always a mess because of this. Managers are expected to open the store by themselves and go on break after the next manager comes in 6 hours later. Or alternatively close by themselves and could... only go on their break after an hour before the opening manager leaves. Doesn't appreciate loyalty and hard work. Head office and HR are disrespectful and doesn't care what you have to say about being mistreated. Don't receive the proper training.

    I was a manager, so advice to head office. Treat your managers with respect. Give the stores more hours to be able to properly staff and run the store. Give proper training. Appropriate work and life balance. Managers are expected to leave the store late and open the next day.

    - Tests your limits (physically, mentally/stress) - Improves time management and organizational skills - Good benefits - Team building - Great staff - Build long term relationships - Fast-paced - Gives you critical skills to not only work for any retailer but also prepares you for other job opportunities outside of the fashion industry - If you work hard, you will be recognized and are able to move up in the... company quite quickly

    - Long hours on the floor - Can be extremely stressful - Physically/mentally draining at times - As in any retail environment, must deal with irate customers - Terrible discount - Long hours/black-out periods during holidays make it difficult to maintain work-like balance

    Avantages

    As a manager you are involved in product ordering and receive a clothing allowance.

    Inconvénients

    Positive feedback is rarely given, its a very negative environment to work in. Rarely is enough payroll budgeted to stores so the staff always felt like they were being stretched very thin and customers were always angry that there weren't enough people to help them.

    Very team oriented place where you have to depend on each other.

    Such a catty environment, Too much discrimination against age, No work life balance

    Dont treat people horribly then be suprised when they say they arent happy. I worked long 14 hour shifts and 7 days in a week sometime with no extra compensation whatsoever. Such a toxic place to work. Do better.

    Great pay and compensation, medical/dental/vision, 4wks vacation

    Inconvénients

    Favoritism is so glaring. Regional team played favorites and promoted their friends. Dating subordinates and direct responsibles was totally ok.
