    Avantages

    Good wage and work at home is possible. Members are great for the most part, especially if you are former military yourself or military BRAT.

    Inconvénients

    USAA has focused on up-selling their products way too much. As a member prior to employment I had a very high opinion of USAA and remember when you would call and your concern was handled quick, efficiently and correctly. Not the case anymore. Employees are made to focus on selling products not keying the work correctly or making sure everything is right ... that is just EXPECTED to happen and not the focus. Great...

    Go back to your roots USAA. Serve your members by focusing on REALLY empowering your employees to do the right thing .. because it's the right thing to do. Stop the up-selling of products ... your members trust you already and they will go to you if they need something. You lose trust by becoming a salesman instead of an adviser.

    Great benefits and great people, working to help the military community. Everything you could think of available on campus so you never have to leave.

    Inconvénients

    Very rigorous call center environment, if you’re not familiar with this it can take some getting used to. Constant micro-management.

    Inconvénients

    Dealing with coworkers they push through training even though they don't have what it takes to live up to USAA's customer service standards or they don't catch on fast enough-makes the rest of us look bad when we have to fix their mistakes.

    Don't be afraid to get rid of people in training who just don't cut it. It just creates more work for the rest of us and makes USAA look bad.

    Really the only PROs were the Bonuses, extra PTO at the holidays, cafeteria had many selections, and the parking garage if you can find a spot when it snows.

    Inconvénients

    In the call center, they run you into the ground with non stop, back to back phone calls. Unless you have a bachelor's degree, they only give you lateral promotions that don't give you a raise. Going into the retail banking dept you get paid lower than the insurance and if you transfer to insurance of auto circle you go through the grueling test to get to get licensed but then are never compensated for it.     Be more flexible with your employees. Get them more times off the phones before the phone calls make their brains melt. Care more about your employees than kissing your boss' butt. Listen to your employees concerns and suggestions to actually make their lives better, which on turn will make the member experience better. Stop neglecting the retail banking. Everyone know insurance is the baby but unless it's the grand opening...

    good benefits and bonus, gym on site, cafeteria on site and cheap.

    Inconvénients

    strictly timed breaks, forced to sell other products, call center, customer's are very entitled, low moral, base salary low, no opportunity to get position off the phones in Tampa, a help line to call for guidance,but it is counted against you. Back to back calls with no time in between for the entire shift.

    Stop treating your employee's like children, move non-phone positions to other offices besides San Antonio. Cancel memberships of customers who are abusive.
