    Avantages

    Good wage and work at home is possible. Members are great for the most part, especially if you are former military yourself or military BRAT.

    Inconvénients

    USAA has focused on up-selling their products way too much. As a member prior to employment I had a very high opinion of USAA and remember when you would call and your concern was handled quick, efficiently and correctly. Not the case anymore. Employees are made to focus on selling products not keying the work correctly or making sure everything is right ... that is just EXPECTED to happen and not the focus. Great...

    Go back to your roots USAA. Serve your members by focusing on REALLY empowering your employees to do the right thing .. because it's the right thing to do. Stop the up-selling of products ... your members trust you already and they will go to you if they need something. You lose trust by becoming a salesman instead of an adviser.

    Avantages

    Great benefits and great people, working to help the military community. Everything you could think of available on campus so you never have to leave.

    Inconvénients

    Very rigorous call center environment, if you’re not familiar with this it can take some getting used to. Constant micro-management.

    Inconvénients

    Dealing with coworkers they push through training even though they don't have what it takes to live up to USAA's customer service standards or they don't catch on fast enough-makes the rest of us look bad when we have to fix their mistakes.

    Don't be afraid to get rid of people in training who just don't cut it. It just creates more work for the rest of us and makes USAA look bad.

    Avantages

    Benefits, pto and the fitness center. The employees were nice by and large too.

    Inconvénients

    Management has their heads up their butts. Bob Davis took care of the employees, but the jerks in charge didn't like his leadership and so things went down hill. Stress will kill and ruin your employees lives you monsters.

    Fire the management responsible for low morale and take care of your employees so you don't have so many people filing FMLA and having to go on anti anxiety medicine.

    Great company. They try to address employee needs

    Became overly annoying and dependent on details. More difficult to work with. Less fun to work for.

    Avantages

    The company has great benefits, especially the 401(k) match. Amazing clientele, nothing is better than serving the military. The annual bonus is pretty great.

    Inconvénients

    From a performance standard they have Almost unmeetable expectations which can leave you feeling defeated. It feels like a boys club sometimes. Not always a lot of transparency from leadership.

    Beware upfront, and be more realistic about what people are capable of. Remember that working on the phone is a really hard job, and people have to be on all the time and that sometimes you need to let them breathe. Create a better advancement opportunity requirement. The current structure makes people feel like it's almost impossible once they get to a senior status

    Low stress, good benefits, tuition reimbursement.

    Inconvénients

    The top of the company is filled with white males so the company hires under qualified minorities for mid management positions. If you are a heterosexual white male it is hard to get promoted quickly.

    Don't focus on the color of someones skin, or their sexual preferences when promoting.

    Avantages

    They provide the tools to get the job done- extensive training, real-time resources, clean, bright and modern facilities. Culture messages from corporate make you feel appreciated and part of an important mission to protect our military families. Pay is average for the area but there is a certain pride working for USAA.

    Inconvénients

    Managers don't drink the same flavor of Koolaid. Personalities are laid bare unless their director is around, or someone from the Home Office in San Antonio. Gossip is not only encouraged but you can be rewarded for dishing the dirt on a coworker the manager dislikes. Never had a problem when I was a simple policy writer but once you get into a higher position the management quality deteriorates to the point where whole...

    Don't allow your employees to be abused by egocentric floor managers. If an employee has a concern or complaint, you can bet there are hundreds more with the same complaint. You know you have a HUGE turnover, jobs are too easy to come by for you to continue to allow this. My resume hit the street Friday, along with 2 others from my team of 10.
