    Avantages

-great staff travel deals, and freebies to be won at times! Travel allowance of £120 per month paid into, which is very generous. -very involved managers. this may be a con if you don't like the feeling of being micromanaged; there are a lot of reviews and hierarchy of managers to report to, they do regular sales call listening and performance reviewing, which isn't always fun but it's genuinely helpful! I... personally like that the expectations are very clear and laid out and monitored, and you are very supported, but this doesn't suit everyone! -nice colleagues -free lunches -your booking is your booking, and there's no booking stealing culture with the consultants -can be fun!

    Dérouler

    Inconvénients

-despite the fact it's nine hour day, and pretty much guaranteed to be over this as you have to stay available to take calls to the last minute of your shift, you only get a half hour lunch and no other scheduled breaks. On days like Sunday's where it’s busy and shorter staffed, or late shifts after seven, you only get ten minutes max before you have to take the next call- once I was on admin for FORTY SECONDS... before a manager monitoring the phones messaged me to become available. You are classed late and chastised if not clocked in by five minutes before your shift even starts! It’s long hard days, and can feel a little school like! -the first six months in particular are very tough. there's a lot to learn and it's stressful, I wanted to quit in the first few months, but it does get easier. -as pretty much everyone on here has said, requesting leave is awful and difficult with lots of convoluted rules.

    Dérouler

    Conseils à la direction

-sort the leave request system out -give consultants the option to put themselves on a 15minute break, outside of admin time. - the hotel confirmation/unconfirming/black outs on certain dates, aka the dates people most want to go on holiday, is clunky, and could do with fine tuning to make booking easier for clients and consultants.

Thanks for taking the time to post. You obviously appreciate our pragmatic approach of reviewing performance and monitoring work; all with a view to supporting consultants and giving our clients the exceptional service they expect. You are right that the first six months are a challenge, we try to make that very clear during the recruitment process, but I'm glad you have persevered as the rewards are great and only get better.

    Avantages

Great staff deals, I'm going to Mauritius in a few weeks on basically a 6grand holiday that I'm paying 2k for! A really good salary way better than most in the industry and great bonus potential top sellers can get crazy amount of money, even average ones can easily earn a few grand a year bonuses. Lots of local stores so don't need to work and live in London. You get lunches paid for by work which saves a lot and... they give you a monthly travel fund to spend on trailfinders product. Nice atmosphere in the travel centre.

    Dérouler

    Inconvénients

The requesting holiday process is ridiculous, worst system/rules I have ever encountered in all of my previous jobs! The hours are long, but in fairness you get the salary and overtime to reflect it so as long as you're aware that's fine, shifts are generally 9-6/10-7/11-8 and obviously include weekends but it's a sales role so of course you will work weekends!but generally only every other weekend-on average. If... you want to do non-sales roles no opportunities really other than in London but most people will be sales focused so all the countrywide travel centres give you plenty of options.

    Avantages

The basic salary is much better than all other retail/office based jobs I have had and there is also a very attainable bonus scheme. The staff benefits are excellent, discounts on hotels and flights and opportunities to travel with the company. They are very eager for you to travel and gain first hand experience.

    Inconvénients

Not always getting two days off together but I dont work more than 4 days in a row normally which is good.

    Avantages

Career progression is based on stats so totally unbiased. Good basic salary so not reliant on commission. Regular salary increases based on performance. You can use shift swaps to get long weekends and get things done on weekdays. Travel opportunities. Free lunch. Mostly friendly well traveled colleagues. You do not have a work mobile or email so you are never contacted outside the office. Excellent brand and top of... the industry company. Company is thriving.

    Dérouler

    Inconvénients

Long hours. Irregular shift patterns. Work weekends. It is very difficult to take leave because of all the rules and restrictions. Some managers are tough on you. You have to wear a uniform and everything you do is monitored and controlled. Sometimes we are unfair to clients. Outdated and complex computer systems.

    Conseils à la direction

Make the rosters system more flexible and user friendly. Stop selling Europe because we do it badly. Negotiate a faster turnaround time on booking confirmations and supplier quotes.

Many thanks for the feedback. I agree with your title 'Good for the right person' and that is why we are entirely transparent in our recruitment process so that candidates know to expect the weekend work, hours, etc. I disagree with your comment that 'we are unfair to our clients'; if you feel this has happened please bring it to the attention of your manager or Simon Wheeler, General Manager UK Sales, to ensure there are no practices in place that could hinder our aim to exceed our clients expectations at all times.

    Avantages

•Great travel opportunities •Free Uniform •Free Lunches •Friendly like minded colleagues •Opportunities to earn a lot of money

    Inconvénients

•They scrutinise your sales performance on a regular basis by conducting meetings held by unhelpful sales coaches who focus on the negatives. •Be prepared to be threatened with the termination of your employment due to your sales performance even within the first month of your employment. •You are very much treated as a number in the company, not an individual. This is made clear by how inflexible they are when it... comes to requesting time off. •Insufficient training programme (for example we were given a 5 minute presentation on a few destinations in Europe then it was announced that we’d be selling Europe and that the clients would expect us to be the “travel experts” in all of the European continent.)

    Dérouler

    Conseils à la direction

•Please make it clear to prospective employees how much of this role is sales based because this is their main focus. Employees very rarely receive feedback from their managers for good feedback from clients. •Improve the rostering system so that it isn’t so difficult to get time off. Please eliminate inefficient rules such as not being able to request single days off outside of 90 days in advance. •Make sure... sales performance coaches have the correct people skills to coach their team members effectively instead of threatening them with dismissal.

Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback and I am pleased that you mention the incredible travel and earning opportunities; with a mission statement of ‘exceeding expectations of our clients, staff and suppliers’ we really do reward our hard working Consultants. We are also justifiably proud of our training programme which starts with 5 weeks of classroom based training followed by 5 weeks on the job training, another week back in the classroom and then an ongoing coaching and development program which does include individual coaching on all aspects of performance, including sales figures. This is how we are able to support Consultants and maintain the award winning level of service we are known for. We are always keen to recognise Consultants’ achievements; our Intranet currently has a notice celebrating the many positive Trustpilot reviews received for the Manchester team and our inhouse newsletter has a double page article dedicated to client reviews praising our service which this month features two or our Manchester Consultants.

Everything else. They listen to every single call and see the recording of your screen activity and you can never ever be good enough. You have to do everything their way even when it isn't natural for you, you can't go to the toilet for a minute longer that they're already asking where you are, there is no flexibility at all, no understanding, no compassion, they don't even respect your health requirements, my... team leader had no patience with me because they have to get their own stats, if a client calls half a minute before the end of your shift you have to take the call (so you never finish on time)... They make it sound like you are their main asset but in reality you are a slave and they couldn't care less about you, only about how much money you are making. You are nothing to them. Despite the pros above, I hated every second of it.

    Avantages

Good colleagues who are young and fun. Lots of supplier nights where you can eat and drink for free. You get discounts on hotels too if you are allowed to use them.

    Inconvénients

You are either told off or made to feel very guilty if you spend longer than two minutes away from your desk. You are watched over by 'telman' who records everything you are doing and will message your manager if he doesn't believe what you have said to him. Ironically, YOU CANNOT TAKE HOLIDAY unless you book week blocks over 6months in advance, no last minute get aways to be had here folks, and no three days off... allowed - only the full week (if you book it early enough). The targets are also very hard for new starters to hit, and when they tell you how much money you can make, this is only made by long timers who have the good calls routed through to them directly. Majority of good reviews on here are by people told to write them by management. The managers are not chosen on how their people/management skills are, but more on how much they promise to please the CEO. Sadly there is not a good work life balance to be had here - if you finish at 6pm, they will make you take a call at 5:59 and that call may last a hour. You will then be in trouble if you turn up 1 minute late for your shift the next morning at 8am. The rules are enforced with an iron fist and you will be in big trouble if you do not toe the line 100%. Think of it as a strict boarding school 100yrs ago.

Thank you for your post and you are right that we have great people working here, plenty of opportunities for socialising and brilliant travel perks; this year our Staff Travel team have secured 850 free hotel room nights to offer staff, not to mention the many others on offer at significant discounts. Our opening hours reflect our commitment to being here for our clients when they need us, maintaining the award winning service we pride ourselves on. We understand Consultants work hard for their clients so everyone clocks in and clocks out meaning all extra time worked is fully paid, which we believe is the best way to fairly reward staff for going the extra mile. A lot of time goes into planning the sales incentives and targets are designed to be motivating and rewarding. If you are struggling in this area I would encourage you to speak to your team leader or a sales coach; they are best placed to provide the support you need. Lastly I will say that staff are actively encouraged to write honest reviews and share their genuine experience of working here for the benefit of job seekers but I can assure you that they are written voluntarily.

    Avantages

    - Decent travel opportunities (If you consistently hit target, can tolerate your passive-aggressive managers and sales coaches & keep your mouth shut). - 120 a month set aside for travel - Free Lunch (Unhealthy, but free). - Salary is decent for what is essentially a pretty easy job.

    Inconvénients

    - Working hours are extremely inflexible, need a day off to mourn the loss of your mother? Not gonna happen. Need to take 1 day off 8 weeks in advance for a legitimate reason? Again not going to happen. You are simply a number at this company and nothing more, this is reflected when trying to call 'rosters' and being told 'national numbers' are low so you are denied a day off. Sorry Trailfinders, this is the... 21st century and people do in fact have lives outside of work too, perhaps taking that into consideration would result in happier employees and lower staff turnover (Which is very high). - Passive-aggressive, egotistical General Managers and sales team leaders. Unfortunately, no real training seems to have been invested in some General Managers and Sales Team Leaders/Coaches, as their only real way of initiating a swift disciplinary SPC session (Where your calls are played back to you and scrutinized intensely), is by threatening dismissal if figures or 'stats' don't improve. - There are colleagues in my office who have been in the company 3+ Years and NEVER been offered to go on a Fam or Educational trip, it is entirely at the manager's discretion and if they don't like you, you'll never be invited. - The company as a whole is very much an Old Boys Club, the similarities to that and the boarding school which I went too (Which I hated), are two-fold. Not many women at the top of the food chain here unfortunately so if you are of the fairer gender I'd look elsewhere.

Value your employees (Happy employees = Happy clients, right?). Ease up on time off, this seriously needs dealing with. If you are a brown-nosing manager or top sales performer you get a certain number of off the record benefits that the rest of us don't get, how is that fair? Relax on mobile phone usage, again, its the 21st Century, there's only so long your draconian laws will stand before we have VR microchips... behind our eyeballs, then what will you do?

Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback and happy staff is an absolute priority for us. No staff member has ever been denied time off for compassionate reasons. Requests for a day off (for reasons other than compassionate) do need to be authorised to maintain minimum staffing numbers; anything less would compromise our high standards of client care. Our staff turner is only 9%, which is 6% lower than the UK average of 15%. Of our senior managers and directors 47% are female and 53% are male. Our benefits offering is transparent, there are no ‘off the record’ perks. Passive aggressive, egotistical and threatening are not words any employer wants to hear so I would urge you to get in touch with me, Gillian Walker (Recruitment Manager), or Simon Wheeler (General Manager UK Sales) or Jez Latimer (Personnel & Training Director) to discuss your remaining concerns on 020 7937 9399.
