    Avantages

    Shangri-La is a great place to be employed if you're working to support individuals with disabilities. Their mission is one they stand by and all the work they do is to ensure the individuals supported have the most fulfilling lives possible. The CEO takes extra time to get to know the employees and clients, which shows her dedication to what she does. They train all the basics and if you need extra help in any areas they encourage you to ask. The home I was at worked together like one big family. We all put in effort and if something went wrong we all held ourselves accountable. We had meetings bi-weekly where we could see what was and was not working as well as discussing accomplishments or issues. I loved my time there and would work there again if offered a position and I was available the time.

    Inconvénients

    Some of the houses in mental health, like mine, were doing all documentation on paper in a notebook. Many of the other homes already switched to using the computer based program to document and log, so it made it much more tedious to complete everything on paper.

    Conseils à la direction

    I think having quarterly all staff meetings with rotating day/time so everyone can attend once or twice a year would be helpful. It would ensure employees are up to date with any company changes provide the opportunity to give any feedback or suggestions to help the flow of the company in areas that are struggling.

    We are moving in a direction that encompasses the same culture to deliver quality care to those serve.

    Inconvénients

    Funding doesn't allow for much increase.
