    Avantages

    Location (Tarrytown). If you do not like living in the city but don't want to be far from it, this is a good location. Also has quiet towns near by. Very science driven with seminars from visiting professors/consultants Pay was okay (depending on where you lived) but supplemented by stock options (and the stocks did well eventually) Health insurance was decent Company had 401K matching program For a... midsize company, we got to see some degree of how science drove some decisions in group meetings Not unheard of and not too difficult to transfer from one group to another within the company Overall friendly atmosphere. Did not feel heavily toxic (could have been in some other groups)

    Inconvénients

    Group dynamics could greatly differ within the company and the degree of company culture was dictated by what a group head tolerated/allowed. Pay was not as competitive as some other companies. Depending on the group, one could work extended hours Evaluation was a sham (as with many places). Promotions seemed to work on a quota system. Doing something "well" for a year, meant you had to show "consistency"... into the next year. This consistency was subject to evaluation the next year with or without quarterly/mid-year feedback.

    Inconvénients

    Management within certain departments does not support company values. Managers play favorites and gossip is rampant. HR is not helpful in resolving issues. Managers claim to support career advancement and when you try they isolate you, nit pick everything you do, and try to get you to quit. Trust within teams is nonexistent.

    Very corporate. Management is not trained well to manage. No work life balance. Expect long hours.

    Avantages

    Lots of effort goes into making employees happy - free coffee bar, morning fruit, afternoon snack, holiday parties, extra time off, research associate appreciation week home work balance is important plenty of opportunity to present your work/data following the science is a priority

    Avantages

    None, unless you consider incompetent scientific managers who require visa sponsorship or deplorable human resource and legal practices to be positive attributes.

    Inconvénients

    Beware of Regeneron's legal practices, during on-boarding you are required to sign a non-compete agreement which may prevent you from working elsewhere if you decide to leave. This practice has been outlawed in other states, but NY is slow to catch on. Many of the other reviews warning of a cultish and hostile work culture are true. If you are considering accepting a position be especially wary of groups with... foreign monocultures in middle management - there is a severe lack of ethical values and standards associated with these groups. A group of individuals in middle management for the R&D side of the business were exposed defrauding lower level employees within the same focus area of their scientific knowledge and experience. The response from HR, legal and upper management was an attempt to cover things over by coercing employees who were aware of the problem to sign non-derogatory statements. Citizenship status is also used by HR and legal to convince employees towards a given viewpoint when they become embroiled in these situations. Be forewarned if you decide to accept a position at Regeneron, you may be gambling with your career - there are systemic ethical dilemmas lurking just beneath the surface. Presumably one reason the IT department is such a mess is that they have to be involved with problems like this one, where there is a clear electronic paper trail to hide.

    Grow a conscience. Enron once prided themselves as an innovative company and there is a very similar corporate culture of "looking the other way" developing at Regeneron. Cover ups are almost always worse than the original offense.

    Inconvénients

    It isn't transparent what career advancement or development opportunities are available, or how to strive to achieve them. There's a void between new employees and tenured employees with regards to HR information, new opportunities, improvements, etc. Just information the older employees would like to have and/or the newer employees would like to learn about.
