Je travaille chez Lumber Liquidators à plein temps (Plus d'un an)

    Avantages

Great pay ($ 11 - $14 max) till you reach the level of a sales director, Great place to work for high school students as most of them who work in the Canadian operation are of the same level...............wave length will match. As a store manager or Assistant store manager apart from selling one can acquire new skills like mopping the floor daily, cleaning the toilets daily, loading and unloading hardwood at the warehouse all time, great opportunity to build your biceps and triceps.

    Inconvénients

Thought process of people working at all levels are very basic. Growth prospects are minimal. New recruits, pls do not expect any formal training, be ready to drive the fork lift on day one even if you have not had any training on the same..........after a month or two management will organise a third party company who will provide a certification that you are qualified to drive the fork lift to keep it on record. Stacking of hard wood floor pallets at the warehouse could be life threatening as one would be forced to keep as high as 5 full pallets one on top of the other despite the risk of falling on one's own head while at work.

    Conseils à la direction

Please do not recruit professionals from good companies, as the job title you offer is so mis-leading (store manager, Assistant store manager etc.,) but the job function is just a sales associate or helper job in reality. Do not promise promotions within 3 months at the time of interview as not every candidate will be a YES MASTER to the management team. Do not adapt the divide and rule policy within the team. Finally BE FARE to everyone, not to select few.

J'ai travaillé chez Lumber Liquidators à temps plein (Moins d'un an)

    Avantages

Nothing really motivating as most of the staff feel extremely insecure due to the management erratic decisions.

    Inconvénients

brain drain is so high, employees are recruited , no formal training is given even to operate a forklift. No safety standards are adhered in the Warehouse, extremely dangerous place to work.

    Conseils à la direction

When you recruit motivated professionals, kindly respect what they bring in to the table, train people before dumping them on the floor/warehouse, if you cannot motivate them, pls do not discourage them. Pls do not adopt RACIST behaviour to your employees especially in the Canadian division.

Je travaille chez Lumber Liquidators à plein temps (Plus d'un an)

    Avantages

    Great management
    I enjoy selling to customers
I really enjoy everything about the daily job duties and people I work with
This is a fun job to have

    Inconvénients

STAFFING. The worst part about this company is their staffing model. Not a great place for somebody with kids or a family. You get scheduled overtime without being asked. If one person who has a key goes out of town be expected to work everyday with no days off. The main reason this company has a high turn over rate is because of burn out. It’s not a job that allows you to have a good work-life balance due to the high overtime expectations. You don’t get asked to work overtime and are just expected to. You could do everything to make this company an amazing place to work but you will never reduce the turnover rate without proper staffing to prevent burn out.

    Conseils à la direction

Have back up for when people go out of town. Have more than 3 people who are capable of opening/closing a store. The staffing model is terrible and is only suitable for somebody who has no life or family obligations outside of work. You can’t expect somebody to drop what they are doing and have their days off taken from them because one team member goes out of town. Make changes to reduce the high turn over rate and keep good knowledgeable staff from being burned out or overworked.

As much as I love my job and my coworkers. I’m considering a new job because I am overworked and have no home life anymore.

    Avantages

Has a good 401k and if you are a store manager it's great pay.

    Inconvénients

Just about everything else. Worked there for a long time. Leaving was the best thing I ever did. Here is the my list of main cons(Have many more)
    - Super dangerous warehouses. Short on space and send pallets that lean when you stack. Only time before someone dies
    - Always short staffed. No help recruiting, 1 year before an employee is decent. Usually quit before then.
    - Sales organization that is more focused on operations and busy work
    - Zero support from corporate. Send customers to customer care so they can enter a black hole and call you tons of the complaining. Any time you email about issues always finger point to someone else.
    - No support in handling bad employees on your own.
    - SUPER STRESSFUL ATMOSPHERE AND TERRIBLE CULTURE. JOIN AT YOUR OWN R
    ISK.

    Conseils à la direction

    Quit and replace yourselves

    Avantages

Pay is good , Benefits are great.

    Inconvénients

Salary employees are over worked. It’s almost like they think they own you. Company comes off a little desperate and nervous like they are on the brink of losing it all The CEO doesn’t seem to take credit for many failed endeavors he has brought the company into and to make matters worse he has surrounded himself with people who are just like him.
