    Avantages

    They started the company with a big bang about being the leader in the space. They raised very good funding from very good investors.

    Inconvénients

    The list is enormous. Its one of the worst companies that I have worked with in my entire career. There are lies spread to all stakeholders including media, investors, customers, employees.

    The management needs a revamp. The CEO needs to go and some professional CEO needs to come and run the company however I feel that Knowlarity will shut anytime now because they are in massive debt.

    Avantages

    + Scale is good and resources are relatively low. so it gets you into solving the ongoing performance and scalability challenges within a week of on boarding.
    + Core members are skilful and competent in pulling up heavy challenges. A good learning ground for someone new to scalable engineering.
    + Managers maintains a healthy environment around which promotes free thinking and pragmatic decisions. Tech Leadership has streamlined some non tech processes to adhere to tech driven approach. CTO is quite reachable for almost every issue.
    + Devops and Product Tech works homogeneously and often some issues gets everybody involved, It gets quite addictive at times and people work till late hours for mostly fun or say camaraderie.
    + Bonuses and appraisals has been generous lately, perhaps because of the cash positive profit spree from last quarter and flak faced by leadership over employee benefits.
    + Company is meritocratic. We have seen many people grow from individual contributors to even Departments Heads in Sales, Support, Delivery, Technology etc. We saw CTO become COO also based on needle moving results displayed in every function he touched leading to turnaround of company. Such promotions inspires everyone to do more and can become anything.
    + Culture has been a big plus. Office is located in Ambience mall/wework, so movies, ice-skating, bowling scenes are usual even on weekdays. they also serve 'okay okay' free food.

    Inconvénients

    - Small Team and more Products. The ratio has been unrealistic and adds up a momentous responsibility on each individual.
    - As many Ex-employees have been saying, No FNF has been released for long. You cannot just sit on someone's money. It's morally illegal. HR team has to take this seriously.
    - Hiring bar has been needlessly set quite difficult which often gets in the way while expanding.
    - All Saturdays has to be off, Not alternate ones. People any way put longer working hours in week. you need to acknowledge the term called work life balance.
    - Whatsapp groups are often active till late night for issues and updates which disturbs many times.

    A product company with this scale requires more resources than now. Maintain the ongoing cash positive run and fix some serious backlog debts

    Avantages

    You get to learn and work with latest tech stack and work in future technologies.

    Anyone in the company from top management to peers are directly accessible to you, so any concern, issue and ideas are heard.

    The company recently became cash positive and now performance bonuses are being paid out slowly.

    Management really worked well last one year to pull the company out from low cash flow and other issues.

    We work in World class workspace - Wework Bangalore, Awfis- Ambience Mall.

    I haven't seen office politics from the time i have joined. Here your work speaks for you and you will get promotions and appraisal on its own.

    You own things you do here.

    Inconvénients

    Here we believe in only two states of work done or not done. So you might have to stretch your working hours sometime to get things done on priority.
    But there's a hack, either improve yourself or improve your system to skip :)

    Other than this i don't see any cons now. There used to concerns related to salary delays, appraisals, office space, performance bonuses but mostly it is sorted now.

    Continue breaking our own records and keep facilitating employees growth. Most important now that we have reached a good stage, please work on strategies to retain employees.

    Avantages

    1. Good learning opportunities.

    2. Great team members and individuals to work with. Somehow Knowlarity had the knack to hire superb Individuals (though not sure same can be said about recent joiners)

    3. Individuals are given the ownership of the product/features they are working on.

    P.S.: Please notice, everywhere I have mentioned good quality work, not great quality work. Good quality work means work quality is 3-3.5 out of 5.

    Inconvénients

    As per my experience, Knowlarity is for those people who think that they cannot get good work anywhere else but at Knowlarity. Also for those who think good work takes precedence over on time salary/bonuses/financial settlement and work-life balance.

    1. Irritating management and CEO (though I heard he left the CEO position recently). They keep changing direction every now and then. The outgoing CEO was good for the company in early stages(first 3-4 years) but now some level headed person is needed to move the company in right direction

    2. Delay in salaries: more the salary, more will be the delay. Many of the the times they distribute salary in slabs e.g. under 50k - 2nd week of month, under 1 lac 3 week of month… likewise.5-10 days delay is normal. It can go to 20 -25 days. Max I have seen is between 1 and 2 months.

    3. Delay in performance bonuses: extremely delayed Performance bonuses. Easily delayed by more than a year. Though it is part of CTC but rarely one gets it as most of people leave company with in a year or two and by that time performance bonuses are not payed out.

    4. Delay in Full and Final settlements. For few its been more than 18 months and their FNF is not settled yet.

    5. Lots of office politics. Instead of solving problems, few mid management people like to escalate and blame it on others and these are the people who are appreciated by higher management. Due to this entire company's work life balance is screwed.

    1. Fix your finances and give concrete proof to each and every employee that financial issues are fixed for at least 12 months or more.

    2. IMO, strength of knowlarity had been its employees who got hired on the merit of their talent(not the one who come as bundle along with some manager), value these employees.

    3. Respect work life balance of employees. Working in odd hours does not mean working hard.

    4. Though now looks like Ambarish (current CEO) is gone, which is good thing IMO, but still need to ensure all those bootlicking mid managers/leaders, who try to show that they are working hard by escalating things instead of working on a solution, are shown gate.

    5. Try to make your core technology solid instead of pushing for many add-ons.

    Avantages

    There is no reason to work here.

    Inconvénients

    If you want to work for peanuts and will not ask for Full and Final settlement after leaving the organization, you are welcome in Knowlarity. Because after leaving the Knowlarity, when you ask for your Full and Final, they will eat all your performance bonus which was the part of your salary and your earned leaves, saying that we have a bug in our attendance system so we are not able to capture leaves. Hence we are making all paid leaves to zero. And we are not giving the performance bonus because when you left the organization, the company was running under loss because of your performance. These are the words of CFO while I received lots of appreciation emails for working hard in Knowlarity.

    (9) Don't do anything yourself and keep questioning other teams (it shows ownership)

    1. Incompetent managers with boot licking ladder all around.

    4. No respect for anyone
    5. Micro Management
    6. No FnF from Last 1 Year
    7. No Performance Bonus
    8. Tune your HR team

    Conseils à la direction

    Please remove the boot licking politics from the engineering teams, CTO has hired his all known person. The managers are extremely dumb and are not competent for leading the team. Nobody thinks of innovations but copying features. This is a sheer shame for the product company.
