    The management are good people as well. However, they sometimes make bad decisions which cost the company money and cause good employees to leave. The training is terrible too. The trainers do not have any patience to train their trainees and they yell at their trainees which makes the trainee frightened to ask questions and cause them to second guess themselves.     Certainly could benefit from a shake up in HR. HR logging on here and writing one line 5 star reviews to dilute their behavior and mislead potential employees is SAD to say the least. Why not make the needed changes instead of logging on here and trying to mask it with fake reviews?     Avantages

    Condensed work week with 12 hr shifts allow for lots of time off. Challenging job tasks will make the time fly by. Benefits are good.

    Inconvénients

    Huge disconnect between MT's in the Fab and those on the carpet.

    When you ask for cost saving ideas you should listen to those actually doing the work. Those with hands on the equipment are very in-tune on what is needed to maximize tool up-time. Team work is preached but this is a very one sided operation.

    Decent pay, good benefits, that's about it

    Inconvénients

    Horrible work life balance. little to no training available. A high school graduate could have done the maintenance tasks I was required to do. Little to no chance for advancement I was the senior person on shift but new guys where being hired at higher pay and job titles since that's the only way they could recruit new people

    Take care of the employees you have and promote from withing. Theres a reason other companies dont have a 2 year turnover rate. Maybe have HR care enough to show up to a exit interview and you may know why long term employees are leaving. I would rather have cement blocks tied to my feet and be thrown off a bridge than return to work here.

    Management is delusional. They drank the Kool-Aid. They expect blood from stone. Short staffed across all fronts.

    Understand that you can't keep busy for 10 hours of a 12 hour night shift. There is no engineering help on nights to point you in the right direction of a process problem investigation.

    If you like 3 and 4 day weekends, that's the only pro that I can come up with. Which by the way these are much needed after having to deal with the incredible amount of ridiculousness during your short work week leaving you to wonder "Where is the hidden camera?"

    Prospective Employees be Warned: In my experience, the job descriptions provided by this company are completely misleading and inaccurate. If you decide to still pursue this company after reading this and other reviews, my only advice is ASK AS MANY QUESTIONS AS POSSIBLE. Make sure you know what you are getting yourself into.     Relocation allowance was $15K, lots of quality vendor training to pad your resume, diversity is good, the company is kept afloat by a disgustingly wealthy Arab investment firm (and can use cash to brute-force the way ahead in the technology race). Overtime is readily available.

    Inconvénients

    Short version: Very toxic work culture. Long version: Many respected and valued employees are leaving. Competition is unrelenting because promotions, raises, and recognition are very scarce ($0.32/hr raise total over ~2.5 years in my case). Normally competition can be healthy, but at GF people some have learned how to play "the game." For example, technicians and their managers have learned to flood the leadership...

    Ask why joke of the industry is that your talent is being drained away at the cyclic rate by competitors who set up hiring camps right in your own back yard. GF went to Austin to recruit candidates from Samsung and the big semi industry there. A few people showed up. Samsung, Cree, and others come to Malta--the house is packed for days with GF people clawing to get away to a healthy and rewarding career somewhere else.

    - We have a desk and computer at which we may take breaks. - The director in our department finally gave up on talking to us directly in our roundtable meetings and has subjugated his lackeys into doing them for him. This is far less infuriating.

    Inconvénients

    - Cafeteria gives you precooked, heavily salted, expensive food. Get rid of Mazzone Hospitality. This company is not even attempting to provide edible food. Unfortunately, they are the only show in town. $7 for a lousy burger. - You have to drive literally five minutes away to get to anything to eat on your lunch break and 10 minutes to get anything that is not fast food or prepared by the dregs behind the counter at...

    How dumb do you think we are? Once you figure out a career path, you have to promote at least 2/3rds of the team retroactively as they have not received any promotions in 6+ years. We know that is not going to happen so why continue with these engagement meetings? If you really care, send out a Google Survey and let your own manager see what your results are. Until then, let us work and leave us alone.

    Avantages

    Non-intrusive work atmosphere in most departments. Overtime offered often if you are willing to prove yourself. Company has shown growth since I started working here, both financially and trying to improve themselves for employee retention. Promising company growth ahead and leading edge technology.

    Inconvénients

    Much of senior management does not listen to feedback from technicians. The people at the very top to try to listen and fix things but there is too much for them to take in. Management in charge of departments needs to respect EXPERIENCED technicians more and listen to feedback if things are to keep changing for the better. Many engineers don't have any actual floor experience and are naive about tool processes.

    Have engineers interface more with technicians. Have technicians interface more with engineers. Don't just give vendor training to a handful of engineers that will never trickle down their knowledge to the technicians that actually do work on the tools. Discourage negative work attitudes. Discourage emotionally unhealthy employees from creating a toxic work environment that makes some people want to leave.
