    Avantages

You get to learn about many different technologies that F5 can afford. F5 is a fair employer. Enjoy working with many great people

    Inconvénients

Some of the challenges include insufficient assistance from escalation team and some managers always said Yes to customers that make the work difficult

    Avantages

no need to list because all the big companies provide those they are not just at F5. You can learned a lot no limits on that or sky is the limit

    Inconvénients

it takes very long to train a new hire till they stat contribute to the work or bring something to the table. Not to mentioned that as soon as those newly trained ones get some experience and they leave the company because they almost double their salaries in other companies. it is expected it is IT security always will be in high demand. Very complex product nobody can make any comments on the issues because they... can mean very different things depending on what modules the product has, its a real struggle for the employees that are pulled to bridge call and they have no clue what is up with the product or code.

    Conseils à la direction

try to keep those new hired and trained employees it takes very long to train them and make a use out of them what is it so easy to let them go. Basically F5 is training high end security engineers for the other companies. WHY??

    Avantages

The company has great benefits. They provide good training. They do alot for the community. I worked with some really top notch engineers.

    Inconvénients

NSE job is a grind due to the immense work load especially through the retail holiday season. The software was getting so buggy that customer sat was dropping. The documentation is way behind and not clear to customers.

    Conseils à la direction

Specialize more. The amount of knowledge one is expected to know is insane. I supported LTM GTM ASM AFM EM and BIGIQ and was expected to know about all platforms and all software versions. Customers deserve a specialist not a generalist.

    Avantages

Good benefits, managers can be considered good as they listen to your concerns. The salary is average but could be better based on what you are asked to do.

    Inconvénients

I don't know where to start from. - Knowledge sharing: The environment is not supportive, and the knowledge sharing is very limited. You are expected to solve customer's issues with a very limited internal tools and askf5. There are a handful of people within the team that will be interested in you and show you some basic staff or even help you with your work. There are also people (Seniors) that will intimidate... you and if it happens that you do not know something or if you are not well prepared they will even embarrass you. In general, it is a very cold and unfriendly environment and everyone is so busy that they will not even care about you. Also, there is a clique and people can share their knowledge only within their clique and leave other people outside. - Internal documentation - It is very limited even for internal employees. - Workload - It is a very stressed and heavy ticket based system. You need to deal with multiple cases/ issues plus issues from phone time. There is not time to even reproduce the customer's issue. - Promotions: If you have the good attitude and close many cases then you can be promoted to Sr. It does not matter if you are technically knowledgeable. - Management have changed the way we work many times as a result creating confusion and frustration to many employees that at end they left the company. - Work-life balance: What work life balance? - New hires: You are expected to find everything by yourself. - Statistics: If you are good at your job or not this is measured on the stats. In general, there is a lot of confusion and it is a company that grew up very quickly. I will agree with another review that mentioned that F5 is hiring weak engineers, and that ENEs will have more job to do. The question is why. If experienced NSEs would be more supportive then those weak NSEs will not have to create more job for the ENEs.

    Conseils à la direction

Think of what could make network support engineer's life easier. Make a supportive environment, the way work is done now it is just achieving the opposite.

    Avantages

You learn a lot. You gain experience above all other employers can offer. If you can work as a team you can be successful. Benefits are incredible. A great place to work to beef up skills.

    Inconvénients

You have high case load and can be extremely stressful if you aren't prepared. This is causing high turnover. PD is constantly adding new features that NSE's struggle to find time to learn. Documentation is behind. Management for NSE's is poor and the Director seems to care less about solving problems then gaining bonus. (like every Director). You have to work one holiday a year, You cannot take Personal... Sick days with out reprocussions.

    Conseils à la direction

Management needs to learn how to work together to keep employees trained and excited about the job. Keep in mind if the Ground Floor is stable, the walls don't crumble as much.

    Avantages

Biggest collection of smart people I've ever seen. Health benefits are very good. Company culture is awesome - beer fridays (with company supplied beer!). They train you with some very marketable skills.

    Inconvénients

Lower levels of the support organization are habitually understaffed and overworked. Once you get trained with an additional skillset, the job stress/workload goes from 'wow this is a great job' to 'wow, let me polish my resume'.

    Conseils à la direction

Put the effort into maintaining NSE staffing levels, especially the aditionally skilled NSEs, high enough to prevent employees from burning out and leaving. Also, make QA work harder, much harder. :)

    Avantages

-nice technology and opportunity to learn a lot -chance to see a company that is doing well finally -many interesting people to meet -if you can play politic you can definitely success there -good benefits

    Inconvénients

-they don't focus on employees. they don't care if you stay with them or not -overall communication with management is terrible. There are some 1st level mgmt that are fine but majority of them are only interested in their own carrier and bonuses -commuting to chertsay is really bad -there are really nice people who work there but because work balance is bad you don't have a chance to socialize -stats driven... environment; a lot of politic -came to Glassdoor because I'm looking for a new job. seeing so many high positive review about the company I'm very suspicious that many of these can be fakes

    Conseils à la direction

-listen to your employees -stats are not the only way to evaluate employee; when they speak listen to them instead of criticize -it is nice to see that a company grows and have money but you are not sharing this with everyone
