    Avantages

Mature working environment with a culture of autonomy. A good community of people within the network to call upon for advice and guidance on technical challenges or experiences. A broad range of clients and projects, often greenfield. Once you are on the network moving on to the next project is relatively straight forward.

    Inconvénients

"Tech Lead" positions are seemingly handed out at random, it can be demoralising to have the weakest link in the team asserting themselves because they've been handed the title. Developers are spoken of and treated as an interchangeable resource, any given one is as good as the next. On the one hand it can lead to you not feeling particularly valued but on the other it means no eyelids are a batted if you request... to switch projects. The policy of working on client site means that you will usually be in 'the spare room' at the clients office which is rarely the prime spot. It does though mean that there are opportunities to look for projects that suit your travel preferences.

    Conseils à la direction

Consider ways in which people's suitability for roles such as tech lead can be better assessed. Or if it doesn't matter who's in the role, maybe dispense with it altogether. Maybe ask for feedback from teams and individuals more when they are moving on or projects are ending.

    Avantages

Been with EE for little over 4 years and never feel like leaving. Most satisfying 4 years of my working life. Met great minds, challenging people, always pushing boundaries of what is possible. EE has the best work-personal life flexibility culture, at times made me thankful to the company. Exposure to multiple technologies, skillset, clients makes you a true consultant. Transperancy in operations and value... given to each consultant is great.

    Dérouler

    Inconvénients

Sad to see some great people leave, and great strategies / wins along with them, At times, its difficult to keep up with what we have created.

    Conseils à la direction

keep the foundation values as they are in the begining, although its mighty difficult with growth.

    Avantages

Working with like minded consultants with very strong technology skills Opportunities to socialise within the network through EE events Freedom to source engagements through the network when/as required High value (technology wise) engagements with excellent degree of autonomy. Good dealings with EE people managers when selecting new projects

    Inconvénients

Ability to select projects for consultants could be made more open as this (in my experience) is appears to be managed tightly by EE people/engagement mangers.

    Conseils à la direction

Keep it up. My 2 year experience contracting for EE has been very positive and I look forward to maintaining my relationship with them.

    Avantages

Get the opportunity to work amongst talented and friendly developers. Work in a team where everyone is motivated to share knowledge and lead best practices. There are normally plenty of opportunities available, especially for those who want to learn and adapt.

    Inconvénients

In some placements you may work in amongst client developers, which is mostly a good experience, but is easy to find yourself a little isolated especially when working away from the central London location.

    Conseils à la direction

Keep working hard to build a strong network and make the most of the available talent.

    Avantages

Even after the initial excitement and novelty has worn off, I still find Equal Experts a very exciting and novel place to work. I came from a financial background and have previously contracted with clients either through agencies that wouldn't really care as long as their get their percentage or directly where office politics took hold. Equal Experts is very different. With Equal Experts, the bar is set very... high. The interview process wasn't the easiest, but it also gave me the confidence that my new colleagues were Experts in their field, and I wasn't going to have to carry fellow contractors that didn't deserve the title. The management structure at Equal Experts is very flat, it is very easy to have a chat with partners or the CEO - and good ideas are appreciated. What further impressed me is the fact that when engaging a client, I have the full backing of a network of other Equal Expert associates, so help with an issue is only a slack message away. Furthermore, Equal Experts provide some interesting opportunities, be it for speaking at conferences or their Experts talks or their social events and are also very supportive of charity work carried out by colleagues. From a career progression point of view, Equal Experts is also very good, because they don't appear to pigeon hole people, so it is easy to move between technologies or engagements, so if a particular area interests you, there are often openings.

    Dérouler

    Inconvénients

The initial recruitment process took a long time from being accepted to starting a contract.

    Conseils à la direction

Keep it simple - it's good that way!

    Avantages

The global EE network is amazing. A lot of learning if you get to work with people from that network. Many good focused slack groups for a wide variety of topics ranging from delivery, technology, devops, security etc.

    Inconvénients

A lot of the good people from Pune office have moved out in a couple of years and the new ones that have joined are nowhere close even if they're experienced. EE Pune is heavily under staffed and the management is still happily signing up for new work and team expansion on existing projects. This leading to a lot of issues like no one to work on new inititatives like upskilling, R&D etc. Also, the earlier... good things like bootcamps for new joiners are not happening more. It is also leading to cutting some corners in the recruitment process. Due to some project demands, enough thought is not being put into team composition. Some projects have all the senior and experienced people whereas a lot of projects are composed of mostly new joiners. This causes a lot of trouble in delivery as the new joiners are not familiar to EE ways of doing things. The management is decoupled from what is happening on the projects and can lead to making decisions which are not beneficial for some of the projects.

    Dérouler

    Conseils à la direction

Please give up some work and free up senior people to work on the necessary initiatives. Listen and act on the feedback given by employees regarding how things can be improved. Bring back the earlier hiring process of letting the candidate go instead of figuring out if he'll do on a particular project. Also, if some of the panels are not convinced for a candidate, listen to them rather than convince them.

J'ai travaillé chez Equal Experts à temps plein plus d'un an

    Avantages

    - Good people both in tech and in support team - Exposure to many areas of software development - frontend, backend, devOps (of course, if you are interested to learn) - Overall good technology stack in almost all the projects - Company philosophy and values are really good and few people are true to them - Lot to learn from the people around, not just about tech but a lot of other helpful things in life - Most... of the people don't care about their roles and eager to learn, share. So, you can spend a lot of time here, working with code instead of trying to climb the ladder of designations.

    Dérouler

    Inconvénients

    - Sudden growth is causing a real damage to the core culture of the company - Sometimes unnecessary importance is given to policies like WFH and that makes the new joiners question whether it's really a company of grown ups. No one misuses it, even if someone does, handle that specific case, don't make policies around it. It's not an incentive. - Compromises on practices like TDD, enough test coverage (its not... just a number, its an important number) - Slow decisions by people team - Grey areas in some of the policies. Only when you ask, you will get the answer (sometimes its not helpful to the employee)

    Dérouler

    Conseils à la direction

    - Set up a process to groom potential leads. The up-skilling initiative was good but somehow died. - Invest in internal tools like payday and others. With the kind of growth company is experiencing, it will be really helpful. - Have the senior folks visit every project once in a while to look from an outsider's perspective. - Keep up the good work, it is one of the rare companies with such a great set of people.

    Avantages

Lot of opportunities to learn new technologies. Provides flexibility to choose technologies. All the people are easily accessible and share a lot with the new members. Mentoring is there but not formal. Flexible work hours and work from home. EE UK network is great and lot of expertise.

    Inconvénients

Company and projects moving away from the values they preach and publish. People are forced to ignore quality for timelines agreed without discussion with the teams. India operations merely looking to get billable people instead of quality. HR policies are at whim's of few people and change overnight. Appraisals are delayed just a way of retention. Recent focus of local clients is leading to same environment as... any other Indian service companies. No real onsite opportunities. Management has created there own ivory tower and is not aware of ground level reality. Just the name is Equal Expert but employees are not treated equally.

    Dérouler

    Conseils à la direction

Instead of asking feedback for people when they leave, better listen to them when they are in the organisation. Make people feel appreciated . Transparency is missing as compared to EE UK. People are just given responsibilities but authority is missing. Don't lower the recruitment quality bar it has already started hitting the overall quality.
