    Recognized company in the electricity industry

    Inconvénients

    Very incompetent HR, they get wrong all payslips.
    Absent management, cares only for own personal interests
    Low pay
    Non existent career opportunities

    Avantages

    It has some of the brightest, most professional and self motivated people that I have met. The people are definitely the key unique driving factor behinds it's current and future success.

    Inconvénients

    There are no cons I can think off. Overall I was very happy working there.

    Avantages

    ELEXON is about it's people, they have a fantastic benefits package (Great Pension, Private Medical Insurance, EAP, Subsidised Gym Membership, Eye Care, Cycle to Work, Child Care Vouchers etc) gernerous holiday allowance, CSR programme (2 days to contribute to charity, charity contribution scheme when participating in a charity event, support charities nominated by staff with fundraising activities, environmentally friendly) they are flexible (laptops, working from home, working hours) office location and facilities are great (free fruit 2x a week, coffee/water machines, close to shops/parks) you can have open conversations with colleagues, staff have a wealth of industry knowledge and will openly help anyone new to the business to pass on that knowledge. They provide great training opportunities and will help with anything you wish to develop. The new starter induction is great you get time to meet with each Executive member plus introduced to colleagues as the business is only 100 employees.

    Inconvénients

    Accountability/relevant action by senior management is not always there when processes are not followed/when staff go against policy or act against company values.
    Management lines can sometimes be blured due to the relaxed nature of the business.

    Avantages

    People, reasonable pay, free fruit (x2 a week), will listen to everyone, open communication and regularly, flattish hierarchy, benefits excellent (health care, pension, gym membership, season ticket loan, EAP etc), 'passport' 3 month probation with regular updates with HR and own management, as well as sit downs and chats with all Executive Board, small company so really can communicate easily and efficiently with all, working from home ability, emphasis on CSR- because of caring not for profit reasons, excellent parties! Reward scheme, showers in building. Really learning opportunities, they will put you through most training you want and support you doing so. Generous 28 day holiday. Beautiful offices, great coffee machines and a brill sparkling water fountain! Employees genuinely care about the company and are really invested, really low staff turnover. The building is part of Regents place, which is always putting on events and is a truly ideal location and place to work.

    Inconvénients

    Close working can often lead to fuzzy lines of accountability, and people wanting to do things that aren't necessarily within their role (though I guess this is preferable to noone ever wanting to do anything).
    some senior managers deliberately don't adhere to company policy despite being the ones who should be.
    Smell can sometimes come up from Eat which smells like stink bombs been set off.
    Can't seem to control the temperature correctly, freezing cold or boiling hot.
    Can be really bureaucratic, with approvals and papers needed for EVERYTHING which can take unnecessary time and cause hassle as everything has to be written 'the elexon way'.

    Avantages

    Very good in house training - I've never experienced better anywhere else
    Good salary
    Very good performance review and career progression frameworks
    Nice offices and location

    Inconvénients

    Deep silo mentality where departments don't communicate, are secretive with one another and hoarde knowledge and information.
    Departments run like little companies, with lots of duplicated effort.

    Break down the barriers between departments.
    Don't allow silos to develop
    Encourage knowledge sharing
    Eliminate duplicate departments

    inconsistency in the company, no recognition, corporate in every way possible and health and safety mad
