    Avantages

They apparently do have hiring-side clients and will call you with opportunities. but...

    Inconvénients

I am a very senior designer in a field that is in demand. When I told them my rate, a rate I was currently making with a current client that I got through another recruiter than Creative Circle, Creative Circle was only willing to offer me 50% of that rate! When I asked how they could expect a person with such experience to accept that, the Creative Circle recruiter said to me "well you will be out of work soon [my contract was ending soon] so wouldn't you rather make something than nothing?" - I was disgusted and insulted. When I pointed out that I am running a business and that my rate is my rate and to accept anything lower would be detrimental to my business, the recruiter said "well I disagree and think you should take the offer". I laughed at them and wished them well.

Might be good for people hard up for work or just starting out but I would stay away from Creative Circle like a professional plague.

    Conseils à la direction

Treat your talent with respect and pay them market or higher rates otherwise close up shop and find a job yourself so you aren't mistreating people with your insane business model.

J'ai travaillé chez Creative Circle à temps plein (Moins d'un an)

    Avantages

Nice people to deal with at the start.
    Great location.

    Inconvénients

They push for freelance/contract work as that can get companies coming back.
They say they know a lot of companies that they can set you up with, but they don't.
They sell to employers freelance and contract and the benefits of it. It's killing the market for full time workers.

    Conseils à la direction

You need to stop pushing freelance or contract work.

    Avantages

The freelance jobs are with cool agencies. The duration of their freelance and contract gigs vary from days to weeks to months, even fulltime. Say no when you aren't interested and they will still consider you for all others. The recruiters are to the point, and great to deal with. They put personality and humour into it, while delivering all the details about a role. I've been working with them for many months.

    Inconvénients

They might tack on a larger markup than other agencies, but hey, they call me often with new opportunies that I wouldn't find on my own.

    Conseils à la direction

It would be nice if we could accumulate a paid day off or two, the more time we freelance through them.

Je travaille chez Creative Circle à temps partiel (Plus d'un an)

    Avantages

The freelance positions they locate are with professional agencies. This may lead to better things. They handle marketing, payment and overall communications well. They have found me more work in past year at a higher rate than I was able to myself, which is obviously a good thing.

    Inconvénients

Agencies see you as an expensive fix for a problem they are not staffed up for. This is because, as a client said to me, "CC adds a pretty good fee on top of your hourly rate". Be prepared to face pressure on this.

    Conseils à la direction

Adding some benefits to the employment contract would be nice and would win my loyalty for the long-term.

    Avantages

Lots of contacts and contracts if you are willing to feed these cats.

    Inconvénients

Pure rip off. Hire senior developers at junior salary. Not honest about the % they take. No technical knowledge. Unethical.

    Conseils à la direction

You can only scam so many people before it comes back to bite you.

J'ai travaillé chez Creative Circle à temps plein (Plus de 3 ans)

    Avantages

-With a supportive manager and a good book of business - there is potential to earn a great salary, early in a recruiting or sales career. You can get a hardcore, "drink from the fire hose"-type introduction to recruiting and sales.
-Also, you can find some really fun, energetic colleagues to work with.
-Nicely designed offices, usually located in sought-after areas.

    Inconvénients

-Don't expect much leeway for creative or independent thinking.
-Management is over-worked and forced to lead with a one-size-fits-all approach.
-Goal setting is haphazard. Don’t expect goals and quotas based on thoughtful formulas.
-The state of employee’s performance is largely based on management's personal feeling towards a producer. This leads to a culture of brown-nosing.
-Public purchase negatively impacted company culture. Public pressure slipped straight through management and fell in the laps of the already furiously hard-working salespeople.
-Pandering to management’s emotional state was a major focus of individuals’ daily energy.
-Regurgitation of management's ideas garnered more praise than other avenues of thought.
-Management initiated inappropriate dialogue on race, religion and gender.
-Flooded with internal reporting responsibilities. For example, I found out that our salespeople were required to report their sales activity in various forms to management 12 times per-week, every week. Poor friends :(
-I also found out that those salespeople were not allowed to eat lunch until they hit a certain volume of phone calls… (is that legal?)
-Management openly complains about fellow employees, previous employees, and higher-up management.
-Management hyper-aware of employees' arrival and departure times.
-Management lacked accountability for unfavorable office performance.
-Management distributed guilt trips to those who wanted to use their hard-earned sick and vacation time.

    Avantages

We have a serious work hard, play hard mentality.

Great package for PTO and holiday time off, and encouraged to take your time off as well. There is also potential for a 3 month sabbatical after 10 years of service.

Uncapped commission structure with ability to earn tons of money, for a not so difficult job.

Helping candidates find their dream jobs, always learning about new companies / clients and technologies in the creative space.

    Never gets boring.

    Inconvénients

Staffing takes it toll, it can be emotionally and mentally exhausting. The highs are super high, and the lows really suck.

It's a female dominated office with lots of drama and side chat.

First year is the hardest, lots of cold calling.

Going from a private company to a public with lots of shifts in management and communication - typical growing pains.

    Conseils à la direction

Work on communication from the top down
