    If you are young and need experience you can climb the ranks quickly since turnover is so high.

    Inconvénients

    micromanagement owners will lie and avoid paying wages/benefits you are entitled to owners can't get along you have no creative freedom or autonomy you will be written up if you are not at your desk at exactly 8:15 you will be required to work after hours with no OT. wages are low, they will try to lowball you when hiring hiring process is absurdly long and repetitive company is splitting apart currently,... sales are falling because they are constantly trying to rehire processes require numerous approvals to get anything done which becomes frustrating over time decisions are made off the cuff with no real evidence or research owners will ask you to try to rip off third party partners/service providers and therefore you will be caught in the crossfire

    They've been receiving the advice they needed to hear for years. They choose not to listen to it and because of this their company is failing. It is unfortunate as this place had the potential to bring a lot of work and economic prosperity to the Niagara region.

    - Some coworkers are great people - The day I left this company - Literally nothing else

    Inconvénients

    This so called company has zero respect for their employees, not to mention are so far behind in the technology that they are coming out with. With a mission to "create the highest performing consumer electronics that are smart, simple and stylish", is far from reality with what has recently been released..that's if it even does get released after all the problems they encounter. The company is run by two... brothers who should absolutely not be in business, and recently decided to literally split the company. While in a meeting they told employees not to worry about their jobs, to only then let go of a handful of people (Some of whom were long time employees - 10+ years!!) for restructuring. This company's vision is 'to empower people' which is an absolute joke if you've sat at a desk here for more than a week. Why do you think there is always constant job postings and positions to be filled? They are not growing, people get hired and leave quickly because of the extremely toxic work environments and demands, mixed with the low wages. It is not worth the trouble and stress to work here. To anyone looking or in the extremely long and unnecessary hiring process that is put in place here, please listen to the negative reviews. They are not written by ex-employees who are bitter..they could not be more true and accurate of what is really occurring here.

    Like the previous review said..would be a waste of time to leave advice. It has been brought up countless times and management will do nothing about it or acknowledge how poorly they are treating people.

    Inconvénients

    - Toxic corporate culture, one where most people talk about exit strategies - Questionable leadership - Group gatherings feel like they're planned for photos ops more than for fun

    Leaving this place was the biggest pro.

    Inconvénients

    The work environment of this company can be described in one word, TOXIC. The pressure, stress and micromanaging of the day to day tasks, along with the ridiculous processes and reports to complete the simplest of jobs becomes old real quick. Do not work for this company.

    Avantages

    A great place to work if you are interested in a challenging and fast paced work environment. CWD is a growth based comapny so you are always learning new things and they are open to new ways of achieving their goals. Pay, focus on goals and cool people to work with.

    Inconvénients

    It’s hard for the company to find solid people, as Niagara Falls doesn’t have the workforce we need.

    1. Investment on employees - Everyone get funds to cover education/training anywhere from $1,000 to $5,000 per year. 2. Strong and Stable financially - Products are sold in all mass retail stores : BestBuy, Costco, Walmart, Babies R Us, Buy Buy Baby etc. 3. Opportunity of Growth - Employees can receive multiple promotions within few years, it's great to see employees jumping up the corporate ladder much faster in... this company than other similar companies. 4. Great co-workers - They conduct multiple interviews to ensure every new employee is a good fit. They will let go a very poor performer. The end result is that you get to work with awesome group of people. 5. Region - You can live anywhere in St. Catherine or Niagara Falls and it won't take more than 10 minutes to drive to office. Peaceful region. 6. Job Security - As long as employees are performing and co-operating there are no surprise terminations. With Performance Review that company have in place, it is much easier for employees to understand the possibility of termination much before it actually happens.

    1. Compensation - Low to Average range compensation. However, if you are great in your job you may get raise and promotion quite fast (1-2 years). 2. Extra Hours - Many salaried employees need to put in extra hours to cover up for open/vacant positions. No overtime payment for salaried employees. 3. Employee Shortage- There is always shortage of employee because of location. Sometimes one person is doing 2 people... job hurts performance and work/life balance. 4. Minimalist office space - No carpet floor or fancy vending machines; More like a warehouse feeling 5. Aggressive company - Management is very passionate about business, and that translates to higher expectations from employees with aggressive approach from management to hold employees accountable. People with low ego and high performance tend to last longer. 6. Bonuses - Some departments will never receive the bonus even though it may make up to 20% of their salary. So, if you have bonus line item in your offer letter, please ask your hiring manager in more detail. There are chances you will never see bonus during your tenure.

    1. Change the vision from "We believe all people should be empowered." to "We believe all people should feel empowered." The difference in "be" and "feel" is huge. It requires less judgement from our side, and asking question to the people for empowering them. 2. Move to Toronto area. Please open satellite office asap to accommodate growth and employee shortage. At this point, the only reason that is stopping... growth is human resource, so it is very easy decision if you want exponential growth. 3. Remote Working - Please make your work environment more flexible (similar to other tech companies) by allowing flexible remote working for some departments. 4. Time Management - Managers need to hold themselves accountable for starting meetings on time. Many a times the meeting starts 5-10 minutes later than scheduled time, and sometimes it takes much longer than required. Need more focused meetings to boost productivity.

    Benefits for full time employees, established company, paid training and courses, company events a few times a year.

    Inconvénients

    Micromanagement to a level that completely cripples the company's ability to do anything. No empowerment at all. Leadership does not lead by example (do what I say don't do what I do). Reviews are not done on time, some people have gone more than 2 years without a performance review or a cost of living increase let alone an actual raise. Lots of turnover.

    Listen to your employees! Don't ask for their opinions and then be surprised when they are unhappy that you completely disregard what they have said. Bring your salaries up to at least average for comparable roles. Give staff the opportunity to develop, you can't grow into a leadership role if you have no ability to make a decision.
