    Avantages

    -Ample opportunity to work on many diverse, fun projects with big name companies.
    -Engaging and personable immediate leadership. (Leads/Supervisors)
    -Willing to teach
    -Amicable atmosphere on floor with artists
    -Studio located in a great location (Kelowna)

    Inconvénients

    -Mismanaged production schedules put considerable pressure and stresses on artists.
    -Tight production schedules doesn't leave room for artists to practice, learn and grow.
    -Miscommunications on past projects between production and artists/leads/supervisors lead to negativity. However, Bardel has learned from those missteps and seems to be doing better.

    -Be Transparent
    -Fight for the artists
    -Work with us from the trenches, your example speaks volumes.
    -Be realistically optimistic. You don't have to be smiling all the time, but be realistic about the situation while optimistically seeking solutions.

    Avantages

    Great co workers and team mentality, fun team building exercises and fun shows!

    Inconvénients

    Sometimes there can be difficulty gaining insight into new projects and what the future holds. Lots of poor communication and overwhelmed people in management roles.

    Organize better and be more transparent with artists and production. Be more accessible to those looking to inquire about general contracts, more professional discussion and emails that articulate the needs of managment and try to accommodate artists.

    Avantages

    - Lots of exciting productions that you can work at
    - Tons of great people to work with, talent and personality wise

    Inconvénients

    - Awful studio, very cramped
    - Awful pay, took advantage on foreign worker's pay when they extend their work visa
    - Awful pipeline hence, expect lots of UNPAID overtime
    - Unfair & very unreasonable pay rise

    Conseils à la direction

    Should treat their employee better instead of just taking advantage of them. Pay them overtime, seriously. Fix your pipeline, they are the main reason why overtime is needed. When animation is not done properly, it should be send back to the animation department instead of having the lighter/compositor fixing it. It is the animators responsibility!

    Avantages

    Good colleagues you can learn a lot if you are junior or mid, some good projects to work on, is a good place for a first experience

    Inconvénients

    Expect a lot of OT especially if you are junior, bad communication between the management and the employees, no OT paid, no OT dinner, lack of new projects

    hired more qualified people to avoid OT.

    The coworkers and supervisors are friendly and the project are awesome.

    Inconvénients

    Too much overtime and short deadline .

    Avantages

    If you want to quietly be another gear cog in a machine, you can disappear in here and be left alone.

    Inconvénients

    Productions are constantly understaffing in all departments causing more workload for same pay. Senior, effective artists are not given rewards or incentives. The overly corporate feeling in the air does not encourage loyalty to the company.

    Let creatives have more say in running the studio, instead of distant, cold, money-grubbing producers.

    Avantages

    Passionate coworkers, team activities, weekly lunchtime improv, life drawing, etc.

    Inconvénients

    Facility was lacking... large company with minimal bathrooms and vermin problems.
    Depending on production management of projects, you may be pressured to work free extra hours to make outrageous deadlines.

    Great team atmosphere at Bardel, however the facility needs some upgrades to accommodate a huge number of employees. Also, keep production in check on how to manage the schedule to allow for better work life balance. No one should be working free overtime.

    Nice location
    Fun projects, highly varied

    Inconvénients

    Does not seem to learn from their previous mistakes. In regards to planning and scheduling
    Unpaid overtime is expected
    The pipeline is broken
    Quality is usually significantly dropped to due to teams being mostly juniors

    To make this no longer a stepping stone studio artists need a reason to stay.

    Top animators leave because the quality drops
    Junior - Mid level animators leave once they have no one around that inspires them

    Avantages

    -Some fun and interesting shows
    -Cool people to work with
    -Easy entry for recent graduates

    Inconvénients

    -High quotas due to under-staffing from under-bidding shows/clients having unrealistic expectations
    -Little to no OT pay
    -Almost everyone is either already or is quickly becoming fed up/tired of all the work a little to no compensation (we occasionally get OT meals but we have to stay until 7:30/8PM to recieve them)
    -Little to no communication from HR when transitioning off shows
