The sick pay benefit is almost too generous and does nothing to stop some employees to just take sick absence as they know they will be paid regardless
Worst thing about Royal Mail sick pay (full sick pay upon 12 months employment and access to a full range of OHS support) is it is abused by too many employees.
Pays from day1 - good for the employee, difficult for managers to prevent short term absence
It's money for being off sick but if you're off long term you need more money probably
Far too generous but useful for those actually ill
I could take a day off sick and get paid - pretty normal Never had long term sick so can't comment
6 months sick pay at full pay then reduced to national sick pay
Full pay sick pay for 6 months.
its too easy for staff to go sick, so it an abused policy
The best bit is that people get really long Sick Pay and time off work if they have sick note from doctor. The worst bit is having to take time off to support family
