Excellent benefits package. Never had any problems with it.

Woefully inadequate for a supposed progressive company.
Benefits are only okay. They feel like the bare minimum in today’s market and are not competitive. Another thing worth noting, should you need to be away from work for a personal appointment, you are required to detail in an online system (that is shared with a handful of individuals in the company) exactly what type of appointment and why. This invasion of privacy is bizarre and ridiculous.

Hi there! Thank you for your thoughtful feedback on our benefits plan and one of our time off policies. McMillan cares a great deal about our employees’ well-being and works hard to be supportive in every way we can. You may not be aware but in the not too distant past we doubled the suggested budget for our psychology benefit to give employees better access to this type of service. We also implemented an Employee Assistance Program called Life Works (https://www.lifeworks.com/ca/solution/employee-assistance-program-eap/) to help support our employees’ health and well-being in a number of different areas. McMillan re-evaluates its benefits program annually and will take your comments into consideration at that time so thanks for that. With respect to your other comment, let me try to clarify. In addition to vacation and sick time, McMillan also provides employees with paid flex-time to schedule personal appointments that might typically take place during regular business hours like a medical or legal appointment. We created flex-time to give employees an alternate option instead of asking them to use their vacation and sick time for such appointments. If an employee has an appointment of this nature, they simply need to state as much and when they will be away. The level of information we request is very basic and is reasonable for anyone taking additional paid time off. At the end of the day it’s up to the employee to choose which time off policy best suits their need, giving them the ultimate control and flexibility over their schedules.
