The worst in my experience was a selling point about joining the company and getting RSUs, however during my first year my bonus, RSUs, and raise were all prorated for the time I worked there. I understand the bonus and raise, however the RSUs which are given out over a 4 year period of time and are there to make me want to stay longer should not have been prorated in my opinion.
Health and Dental were covered 100%. Also good physio, vision, massage, and therapy coverage. Only issue I ever had was when I claimed disability and the insurance company decided my doctors were wrong and I was not paid during my treatment. Eventually I had to leave the company due to my illness.
Canada's division has a great benefit package. Benefits are fully paid for by the company and effective first day of employment! No waiting period. The coverage is 100% of medical and dental with the standard coverage for extended medical. However, the bonus structure at Gilead Canada is not great. It is set up for the rich to get richer and regular employees are cut short.
Decent medical benefits, car, stock purchase plan, vacation is low end (3 weeks)
Good health plan, RRSP matching, DC pension plan, discounted share purchase plan, average for holidays.
Seems to be a pretty standard Canadian benefits package in terms of health/dental insurance plan. Vacation setup is very sneaky. They say you get 3 weeks to start, but you really only get X days every pay period, and if you take no vacation at all for the whole year you'll have 3 weeks at the end. It's a great way to make it difficult for employees to know how much vacation they have, or to take long vacations early in the year (when it's winter and cold and people just want to get away).
