Its an average work benefit that they offer. It nice because you can have additional employee discount on top of the sale price. They do a matching RRSP after your probation.
The company has good discounts and offers a friendly work environment. You won't be pressured into doing things you're not comfortable with and can take things at your own pace. That being said, as a sales associate, we are underpaid for what we do. After 1 year of having to know product knowledge, pitching and selling, bringing in extra revenue for the company, they only raise your pay from minimum wage by an extra 0.50? If you are looking for something that pays and a friendly working environment, Best Buy provides that. But a long term career and a good pay? Don't plan on staying longer than a year, wouldn't recommend going for sales either, apply for operations (cashier), its less work for the same pay anyways.
I did not have any benefits because it was a part-time job. But those who worked there for a long period of time, they had good benefits.
Health benefits as of 2018-2019 were better, with Sunlife coverage up to 90% medical and 100% dental with up to $3500 orthodontics coverage / person
Staff Purchase is really cool!
The employee stock purchase program can be more attractive to invest in than currently.
Your time off is not a set amount, in fact it keeps growing as you work so one year you may have enough hours to take a whole month off
the employee discounts are great
Provide options to employee to chart their benefits package.
Best buy has great perks for employees, the discount aswell as a solid health care plan
